  • Conduct Safe Passage Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive passage plan while maintaining a vigilant navigational watch to ensure the safety of the vessel and its occupants.

  • Meteorological Interpretation: Skillfully interpret meteorological reports and transmissions to make informed decisions related to weather conditions and route planning.

  • Compliance with International Regulations: Adhere rigorously to the requirements specified in the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea (COLREGs).

  • Emergency Response: React adeptly to onboard emergencies, demonstrating the capability to handle unexpected situations efficiently and responsibly.

  • Understanding of Maltese Regulations: Possess a profound understanding of the pertinent Maltese regulations governing maritime operations.

  • Mechanical and Electrical Systems: Acquire foundational knowledge of the mechanical and electrical systems onboard the vessel, ensuring the ability to address basic operational issues.

  • Marine Pollution Prevention: Implement necessary measures and precautions to prevent marine pollution, demonstrating a commitment to environmentally responsible maritime practices.

In summary, this course is designed to equip trainees with the comprehensive skills and knowledge essential for effectively navigating and commanding pleasure yachts in compliance with international and Maltese regulations, while fostering a strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and seamanship within the Mediterranean Sea.
