Course Description

The Basic Fire Fighting - Maritime course is designed to provide participants with essential knowledge and hands-on skills to effectively handle fire-related incidents. This program emphasizes the ability to identify the nature of a fire, classify fires, and make informed assessments of safety conditions. Participants will gain practical experience with various fire extinguishing methods, including the use of portable fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

 

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will achieve the following objectives:

  • Understand the chemistry of fire and its fundamental principles.

  • Classify fires based on their origin and the appropriate extinguishing agents.

  • Recognize the types and uses of portable fire extinguishers for different fire scenarios.

  • Identify common causes of fire incidents and implement preventive measures.

  • Demonstrate practical competence in the use of fire-fighting equipment, including CO2, dry powder, foam, and water fire extinguishers, as well as fire blankets.

  • Develop the ability to assess the safety conditions of a fire incident before taking corrective actions.

  • Enhance emergency response readiness in the event of a fire-related situation.
